Microsoft 365 Copilot’s pitch is proximity: AI inside the apps your team already uses all day. Drafting in Word, summarising a Teams meeting, building a formula in Excel from a plain-English request — that’s where it shines, because it can see your documents and calendar.
The catch is the bill. At roughly US$30 per user per month on top of existing licences, it’s the priciest option here, and the value collapses the moment your team isn’t living inside Office.
What this means
Copilot’s advantage is integration, not intelligence. Judge it on how much of your day is already spent in Microsoft apps — that, not the underlying model, decides whether it pays for itself.
